BIS to Host Educational Seminar on Security Threat Prevention

Complimentary Lunch & Learn Event for Gulf Shores and Foley Businesses

Robertsdale, AL (April 26, 2016) – Business Information Solutions (BIS), experienced IT security company on the Gulf Coast, will host a free educational seminar on cybersecurity prevention for businesses in Gulf Shores and Foley on Thursday, June 9th at Wolf Bay Lodge located at 20801 Miflin Road in Foley, Alabama. This lunch and learn event aims to equip local business executives with information they need to protect their business from cyber-attacks. Reservations are required and can be made by visiting or calling 251.410.7601.

According to a recent survey conducted by National Cyber Security Alliance and Symantec, 83% of small to mid-sized businesses do nothing to mitigate risk against cyber threats while 50% of all attacks are targeting them.  BIS’s presentation will focus on different tactics cybercriminals use to infiltrate a company’s system and ways to prevent this from happening.

Who Should Attend?

The lunch seminar is designed for business owners and executives who are concerned about security threats like Ransomware, phishing emails and hacking.

Phillip Long, CEO of Business Information Solutions, will discuss the top six security precautions every organization must take to guard against new, sophisticated cyber threats. He will also explain how firewalls and anti-virus can give a business a false sense of security.

“Today, just having anti-virus and a firewall will not stop the more advanced cyber-attacks that can wipe out an organization,” said Long, owner of BIS. “Phishing emails alone account for around 91% of cyber-attacks according to Heimdal Security. In order to guard against this type of attack, you’ll need a more sophisticated cybersecurity prevention plan.” (Photo: Phillip Long)

Long continues, “During our upcoming presentation, we’ll walk you through the necessary layers of protection needed to keep your organization safe from cyber criminals.”
