BUSINESS INFORMATION SOLUTIONS, INC. FOUNDER AND CEO PHILLIP LONG EARNS THE CERTIFIED INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY PROFESSIONAL (CISSP) DESIGNATION
ROBERTSDALE, Alabama (DATE TBD) – Phillip Long, founder and CEO of and owner of Business Information Solutions, Inc., recently completed cyber security training to become a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Long is among a small, respected group of IT professionals who have earned the CISSP designation, a globally recognized security standard achievement bestowed by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium, or ISC2. ISC2 is a nonprofit organization specializing in information security education and certifications.
Long, who founded in 2001, has 17 years of experience in information technology security. He helps to educate the public about the risks of cyber-attacks and hacks, offering free educational seminars to companies and individuals along the Gulf Coast throughout the year.
“When an individual is attacked, they are considered a victim and are offered help,” Long said. “When a company is hacked, it is also an unwarranted attack, but the company can be viewed as irresponsible, rather than as a victim. That’s because people expect businesses to protect personal information. Once trust is broken, it’s often difficult to earn back.”
The Equifax data breach is the latest example of large-scale malicious hacking. The credit histories and financial records of at least 143 million customers may have been compromised, according to published reports. The hack began in mid-May and continued through July, 2017. The breach wasn’t reported to those it potentially affected until September.
“Our team of technology experts work proactively and strategically to provide the support and solutions clients need,” Long said. “We remain focused on providing business solutions that make lives easier, lower costs, drastically reduce security risks, eliminate waste and allow business owners to focus on doing what they do best: running their organizations.”
