As a Managed Security Solutions Provider (MSSP), Cyber Fortress will specialize in cybersecurity risk management and compliance to help companies with sensitive or important data meet regulations and address security concerns.
The company will be led by Phillip Long, the CEO of BIS and a cybersecurity expert who holds both a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). In this role, Long will be responsible for overseeing the new Security Operations Center in Robertsdale, Alabama as well as managing the cybersecurity engineering team.
Long started the company to help businesses across the country meet the ever-increasing cybersecurity risks and compliance requirements . “The number and complexity of cyber threats has increased dramatically as more companies have made the switch to remote work to combat the pandemic,” he said. “Cyber Fortress will offer End Point Detection and Response (EDR) cybersecurity solutions as well as work with businesses to meet their compliance requirements.” Long added that there are way too many breaches that could be prevented with affordable solutions, but business owners just don’t understand the problem yet and that is the problem that Cyber Fortress will solve.
“Right now, business owners have too much blind trust in their technology providers who don’t have systems and processes in place to ensure the highest level of security,” said Long. “That’s where we come in. We hold IT companies and ourselves accountable with reports that prove the necessary security requirements are taking place as well as granular network isolation if a security incident takes place. This is big because there are no companies in the marketplace that are focusing on the small to mid-sized clients.”
