What Is A Baseline Security Assessment?

I want to talk to you this morning about a baseline network analysis, or possibly what could be called a security risk assessment. And why you need one.

Philip Long here, CEO of Business Information Solutions in Cyber Fortress. First off, let’s talk about what is a baseline security risk assessment? Well, ultimately, it is a 30,000-foot view of your overall organization. And we want to take a look at things like, where is your data? With this work-from-home policy a lot of times there’s corporate data getting spread out amongst private computers, which can be very alarming. What applications are running on your network? How is your system being patched and secured? What type of firewall settings do you have?

This sounds very complicated, but really under the toolage of a skilled assessor, it’s quick. There are tools that can be ran that will give you a very good understanding of where you sit and as it relates to your security posture. Also, how likely you are to be hacked, how likely you are to have downtime, how likely you are to experience downtime due to data loss, and things of that nature.

Why is this really so important? Well, really, this isn’t so much a technology or security question, although it involves those things. It’s really a business question and how viable is your business. And as we go forward into the marketplace and we’re looking at cybersecurity liability insurance, these factors that I’m talking about are going to be more and more relevant to you. So it’s best to get your head around what that looks like.

I’d like to offer you a free, no obligation assessment. Again, this isn’t going to go into everything, but this is going to go into the key factors of an organization as it relates to not only the security but how it functions in general. Because if you have good security in place, really, you have a good functioning network. Most of the time, security is looked upon, it’s like, “Oh, gosh, that’s a horrible thing to even talk about. I don’t even want to think about it.”  But in actuality, a good security processing plan makes an organization run smoother.

So what I’d like to do is offer you an assessment of your overall organization so that you can number one find out where you sit as it relates to risk. Number two, find out. Are you spending your IT budget on the right products? Products have really changed as it relates to the security level they’re given. A lot of times people are spending money, but it’s really not being spent that effectively as well as being able to sleep at night. Give you that peace of mind that you’ve done your due diligence and you practice due care.

So, hey, this is free, and I don’t know what you want for nothing. Maybe you want your money back. But if you’re a savvy business owner, you want to have this done by somebody, and I’m offering it to you here for free. All you have to do is fill out the form below, get on my calendar, and we can discuss really where you are. Thank you for watching.
