How Fast Can You Be “Backup” And Running?

Data Disaster Averted

Having appropriate data backup solutions isn’t the only concern when it comes to an IT disaster for your business. Depending on what your method of data recovery is, in the event of a data loss event, you could be putting your business on hold as you put the pieces back together.

Not all Data Recover is Created Equal

While there are multiple methods for data backup solutions, they aren’t all a safe choice. While hard copy backup solutions such as flash drives and servers are great for recovering from minor disaster events, they don’t save you in the event of a fire, burglary or a server crash. This brings about the importance of having an offsite solution such as a cloud system that can be accessed even when your physical office cannot be.

The Data Backup Delay

The other primary challenge of ensuring you have a proper disaster recovery plan in place is business continuity. Having data backup services in place aren’t enough, you also have to take into account the time needed to get things back up and running again. When using in-house servers and flash drives to backup files, you automatically put yourself at risk for a long reboot process. Files, software and documents must be uploaded from these devices and this could take hours or even days. This results in lost work time and money. Having an off-site backup system, such as cloud services, allows employees to be able to continue their work from home, even if the office and its servers are not accessible. This also eliminates any lost time in your services or project work.
